Korean 48 Hr Short film Project   Leave a comment

I had the chance a few months ago to work with my friend James on a 48 hour short film project in Korea. This is what we ended up shooting! I had to head back to Tokyo right after shooting, and it turns out the film wasn’t submitted as a final entry, but here is what weeventually cooked up!

I meet an inspired fan   Leave a comment

After I did my  Smile Jamaica interview about a month ago, I was both flattered and humbled by the e-mails and calls I received from people all over the country. One guy in particular, e-mailed me from Canada to tell me he appreciated the work I was doing putting Jamaica on the map. I had no idea he was in Jamaica on a brief visit, and I ran into him recently at a party in Kingston. I am glad I am inspiring people and will try to keep it going!

Japanese Video Study Blog 1   Leave a comment

I’ve started a brief series of video blogs that will explain some of the technical points behind studying Japanese and the systems i’ve used thus far. This isn’t me really talking about “how to speak Japanese” because there are a million of those blogs out there already. It’s going to focus as technically as possible on the methodology of current study, and ways i’ve tried to keep motivated, worked around frustration, etc. Hope you like it!

Jamaican in Egypt episode one!   Leave a comment

Greetings everyone, I’m happy to announce the release of the first episode of my short web series, Jamaican in Egypt! I was fortunate to be able to go to Egypt for 2 weeks a year ago and travel all over the country, from Cairo to Luxor, Aswan and back! I documented as much of the trip as I could and I’ll be releasing about 10 episodes all entitled, “Jamaican in Egypt”. Please enjoy this first effort and let me know what you think! I appreciate it!

In this first episode I go to Old Cairo, also known as Babylon. I check out an old church, a market an ancient mosque and hangout with a young charismatic salesman.

The video is below, you can watch it in nice 720p HD!

I will eventually be releasing information on my Jamaican in Egypt wordpress blog, but for now, just check my youtube channel for updates!

I had the fabulous opportunity to film an event at upscale bar Le Baron de Paris in Aoyama, Tokyo. It was a pretty cool event, sponsored by Moët & Chandon Rosé. Pictures by Alex Wuillaume.  My video is under the pictures. You can see the full gallery at the Le Baron site here.

Here is the video!

Biggups to Hello Kl!tty and other guest DJs who made it a rocking event. This is a regular event, held at Trump Room, in Shibuya. Video is below the flyer.

Earthquake update   Leave a comment

As you all know the recent disaster that struck Japan has gotten the world into a frenzy, and rightly so. Though I must admit things in Tokyo here feel normal. I mean PAINFULLY normal, in light of a possible nuclear threat and another quake, at the * intense * behest of my family, I am leaving Japan on Tuesday. At this stage I am not sure if I am coming back, or what my future with Japan is. My mood is quite circumspect; I mean… I’ve developed a little routine and life here and so on and in less than a day I had to decide to leave the country. I am not sure how I feel or what else to write, but I posted this little update video this morning just to keep people in the loop.

A pic of live TV just before the second major quake hit.
